90 men representing 18 teams compete in 12th annual Men in Heels Race

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – This year, 90 males continue the tradition of shuffling in a pair of pumps, wedges, stilettos, and more. The annual event holds its 12th run this year featuring 18 teams raising awareness and funds for Hilltop’s Latimer House which serves people who have faced domestic violence and sexual assault in Mesa County.

After laps up and down the track, competitors kick off their heels knowing they enjoyed themselves while supporting a good cause.

“It’s just a good time. It’s fun coming out here with the boys and dress up like real men with heels,” FCI Constructors Team Captain & Superintendent Eric Sander-Cederlof describes, “It’s second nature at this point. We all woke up this morning; we got a jeans, had on our safety gear, and we all went to work in heels, believe it or not. It’s a little challenging at first but we got it done.”

FCI Constructors strut strong as the winner of the 12th annual Men in Heels race. The physical race in heels is over but the chance to donate to Latimer House is still alive.
