GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Sonia Gutierrez was born in California but raised in Grand Junction since the age of 4. Gutierrez’s parents immigrated to the U.S. From Mexico and worked diligently to build the life they wanted in Mesa County.
Gutierrez helped her parents run a tortilla factory for several years. Watching her parents inspired her to start her own business.
Gutierrez and her brothers created Sierra Concrete. Sierra Concrete is a local construction company focused on ski resort infrastructure in Colorado. They contributed to a project in Steamboat Springs, the tallest ski run in the U.S.
Gutierrez’s personality pushes her to seek challenges instead of taking the easy route. She hopes that mentality will help build on her success.
