GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — If North Avenue is a road you travel during your morning commute, you may want to make a note, as CDOT continues a resurfacing project this week.
The agency and United Companies are making a few adjustments to their work hours, when it comes to the U.S. 6/North avenue project. The schedule is shifting to 2PM through 2AM. Now, that change is aimed at helping crews to complete the paving project, before temperatures get too cold to place asphalt.
Once complete, the project will improve the drivability for motorists in Grand Junction.
“It’s important for motorists to know this because as you drive along north ave, you’ll see workers out more often. Please plan for that longer travel time. This is incredibly important because we want to make sure everyday our workers go home safely at the end of the day,” says Communications Director, Elise Thatcher.
Construction will end mid November and Elise tells us the drive on North Avenue will be a lot smoother.
