GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Curecanti Medical Society (CMS) is proud to announce four Montrose area students have been awarded scholarships in honor of the late Doctor George G. Balderston.

The CMS Scholarship program has assisted students in pursuing a career in the medical field for over 30 years. CMS physicians in the Montrose area fund the scholarships, which CMS awards annually.

Scholarship awardees are as follows;

  • Reanna O’Bar, enrolled in the Surgical First Assist training at Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting
  • Michelle Mullins enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner certificate program at Maryville University
  • Amee Pearce-Waldgove, completing a Family Nurse Practitioner certification at Western Governor’s University
  • Cassandra Chavez, enrolled in the Surgical First Assist training at Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting
