Coach Martin’s Thoughts on New CA Bill


California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill allowing student-athletes to get paid through endorsement deals and sponsorships based off of their likeness and image.

Colorado might not be too far behind as Republican state Sen. Owen Hill and Democratic state Sen. Jeff Bridges want to introduce the bill to the centennial state at the beginning of 2020.

We asked Colorado Mesa head football coach Russ Martin about what he thought of the bill and how it could affect athletics in Grand Junction and Division II athletics.
