District 51 high schools receive over $2 thousand for school supplies

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – Five of District 51’s high schools split a donation of over two thousand dollars (exactly $2,135.00) to put toward resources for the variety of classes. While younger students get kits of pencils, glue sticks and more, needs of the high school students are different but still priority.

Things like technology and student fees are targeted with this money so that every student has what they need at school and at home.

“They all deserve an education, they all deserve to get it just as much as everybody else,” Central High School Principal Lanc Sellden proclaims, “When they start during these first couple of weeks, they’re ready to go. They’re excited but they’re excited with everything they need to be successful.”

45 boxes, and counting, of school supplies have been packed for students while supplies last. The “Stuff the Bus” fundraiser brings a smooth start for kids to go back to school.
