Doctors from St. Mary’s hospital took a dip today to help raise money for United Way of Mesa County.
Eight St. Mary’s physicians volunteered to take a turn and be dunked outside of the hospital while co-workers gathered to see them hit the water.
St. Mary’s hospital is one of many workplaces that campaigns with the United Way to raise money that greatly impacts Mesa County.
“All the employees here are encouraged to donate through their paycheck,” says Honora Swanson Bober with United Way. “This is just a side fundraiser for that campaign.”
She also says that St. Mary’s makes one of the largest impacts for United Way.
“It’s really just participating in our community, being part of our community, and serving the community and giving back to the community,” says Dr. Bill Hilty.
Officials say this years goal is to raise $60,000 and so far, St. Mary’s has raised $44,000.
