After 20 years of service with the last scale, staff at the Mesa County Landfill want to keep efficiency going with the new installation. While the setup will look different checking in on one side, service to take out trash is still available.
“Dropping material and outbound traffic should it should be just as fast as it was before. It’s the inbound traffic that’s getting slow down a little bit,” Jennifer Richardson clarifies, “Fortunately, we have another inbound scale usually we reserve that scale for a commercial haulers but, during this construction, we will be using that commercial scale for everybody.”
Landfill crew members will direct traffic onto the scale as construction goes on. The new inbound scale is scheduled to be finished by June 9, and crews will work through the weekend, if needed.
