GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Grand Junction Police Department is looking for witnesses to a collision involving a motorcycle and a Jeep Cherokee on Wednesday night, sending one woman to the hospital.

Westbound lanes at the intersection of Highway Six and 50 and 25 Road were closed for about four hours while law enforcement investigated the crash.

Officials believe the driver of a Jeep was trying to make a left turn onto the highway when the vehicle collided with a female motorcyclist. The woman was heading south on 25 Road and was hit as she entered the intersection.

Neither the Jeep’s driver or passengers were injured; however, the motorcyclist was transported to St. Mary’s hospital with what was described to be serious injuries.

Witnesses are being asked to call 970-242-6707.
