GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – They said they could not hear my left lung and that I needed to go to the hospital”
Mikayla did not want to go on camera but told KREX at the hospital she and her family learned it was more than just her persistent cough, her lungs had collapsed.
But nothing could prepare her family for the words they heard next. Mikayla was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and that wasn’t the only problem doctors saw.
The mass being inoperable, cancerous tumor somehow Mikayla keeps her sense of humor.
Her husband spent the entire past month at Mikayla’s side at a Salt Lake City Hospital and had to quit his job. Their October 1st wedding ceremony had to be postponed. Thankfully, Mikayla has an entire support system rallying behind her and an outpouring of support.
Keith Hayden, family friend of the Loughlin’s stated a Go Fund Me account to help with expenses.
