Garfield County police make drug bust arrest after vehicle pursuit


PALISADE, Colo. — Officials say, at 10:45 Thursday morning, Garfield County Law Enforcement began pursuing a passenger car on I-70. The suspect vehicle was ultimately found abandoned in the 100 block of ‘Bacon Court’ in Palisade, just before one o’clock Thursday afternoon.

Several law enforcement agencies involved in the incident conducted a search of the vehicle, that resulted in a drug bust. Authorities say four people are believed to have run from the car.

At last report, 30-year-old Edgar Rivera was arrested on multiple prior warrants, in addition to a charge of possession with intent to distribute.

Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, De Beque Marshal, Palisade Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, and the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office all were involved in this incident.

The investigation is still ongoing.
