GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Emergency Operations Center provided an update on operational dates for alternative care sites, including one location in Grand Junction.
The Western Slope Memory Care Center, previously the Welbrook building, was supposed to be completed by May 8th, but as of May 1st, the build out date was suspended.
This facility’s being renovated to provide medical care if hospital capacity is exceeded during the pandemic.
The Colorado State Unified Command Group says this change is due to updated hospital surge projections, which show hospitals across the state continue to meet patient care and capacity needs.
As of right now, the Western Slope Memory Care Center is scheduled to be operational by July 2nd.
