GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — UPDATE: Car chase in GJ ends in SWAT standoff

Law enforcement in Grand Junction is searching for an individual in an ongoing investigation in Grand Junction.

Law enforcement officers are currently working to contact a suspect who is uncooperative in the area of the Linden Pointe Apartments. Officials urge the public to avoid the area.

A SWAT team has been dispatched to the area.

The GJPD received reports of a woman involved in a domestic incident this morning around 3:45 a.m. The woman allegedly claimed a male had made threats against her.

GJPD officers and MCSO deputies contacted the male, who fled the scene.

Law enforcement investigated and reportedly located the suspect in the area of the Linden Pointe Apartments. Officials are asking the public to avoid the area, as this is an ongoing police investigation.
