GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Officials are requesting your opinion on the upcoming Ironton Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Physical Safety Closures Project.

The project, proposed for the summer of 2023, would close 22 inactive mine openings approximately 7 miles south of Ouray, Colorado using various methods.

The public comment period is set to last through March 31, 2023. According to a recent press release, comments may be:
