GATEWAY, Colo. (KREX) — Gateway investigators are still investigating a shooting that happened in Gateway this April.

Investigators in Gateway inform Western Slope Now “evidence is being reviewed and any available follow-up from public knowledge is being investigated.”

Mesa County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a man shot in the abdomen at a campsite near Gateway Canyons Resort. The shooting happened in the evening hours of April 21 during the 6th annual “Gateway Get Down.”

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, a white-colored truck was seen earlier in the day by witnesses “flipping off” the campers.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident with no further threat to the community.
