The Grand Junction Tigers ended the season with a bang. They scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat the Fruita Monument Wildcats, 8-7, on senior night.
The Tigers were down 7-4 until their bats couldn’t be stopped. Senior Jared Chapman drove in the winning run with a deep double to left field.
The Wildcats fall to (6-2) in league play, but still are the kings of the Southwestern league standings. The Tigers remain in third with a 4-4 league record.
Both teams will gear up for the playoffs that start this weekend.
