Latest executive order protects wildlife, public

COLORADO– Governor Polis is issuing an executive order to protect wildlife, while also protecting citizens.

Wednesday’s order will prioritize protecting the migration corridors of large game statewide.

The order is set to direct CDOT to enable safe wildlife passage to hopefully reduce wildlife collisions on our roads.

With the rapid growth here in Colorado, conservationists say this helps protect pathways animals learn through their parents, while also enhancing our own quality of life.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife will begin incorporating the importance of migration paths into public education, while also directing CPW to gather data on wildlife migration by the end of the calendar year.

This order will remain in effect until 2023.
