Lincoln Park gets vivid fort to inspire kids to play outside

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX)- The independent board, Great Outdoors Colorado, created generation wild so kids can reconnect with the outdoors for their well-being. Recent studies from Frontiers in Psychology show that 20 minutes outside reduce a child’s stress and anxiety.

Whether the activities are in the sun or under the shade, children’s mental health widely benefits from 20 minutes of active fun.

“Just 20 minutes outside a day can help boost self-esteem, improve mood, lower anxiety,” Jackie Miller informs, “The outdoors is an ultimate stress reliever,”

Miller clarifies the generation wild fort is a visual statement for kids to get active outside, where using the work of art is limited to exercise of the imagination.

The fort will be available during regular hours at Lincoln Park. The fort will be up for thirty days in Lincoln Park before its next destination on the tour.

There are many family-friendly activities that can be done in 20 minutes. Some can help with sleep, ADHD, and reducing stress.
