Local Food Bank Says They’re Prepared For Possible SNAP Changes

Food Bank Of The Rockies Ready To Deliver

PALISADE, Colo.-

The USDA is proposing changes to qualifications for food stamp recipients. Their aim is to close loopholes states have been using to automatically put folks on the SNAP program.

We have reached out to Human Services here in Colorado to figure out the exact number of people the proposed rule changes could affect. No word just yet. But Thursday we spoke to the people who help those who could be affected- Food Bank of The Rockies.

Last year they helped serve 8 million meals on the Western Slope. Food Bank of The Rockies has been on the Western Slope for more than 20 years. And they say they are prepared to help hungry individuals and families. Whether they are sick, injured, lost a job, or even – lost their SNAP benefits.
