GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - One child and two adults were pulled from the Grand Valley Canal Thursday evening.
Two men jumped into the water after a girl fell into the canal around 15th street at 7:57 p.m. in central Grand Junction.
The adults were able to lift the girl out of the water, but were not able to get themselves out.
The Grand Junction Fire Department was able to follow the men down the canal and pull them out safely at 8:10 p.m.
It is unclear at this time how the girl ended up in the water.
Grand Junction Fire officials warn that, even in a drought, canals in the Grand Valley are dangerous as the current underneath the surface often runs faster than how the surface appears.
