15th Annual Montrose Home, Garden and Business Expo

MONTROSE, Colo.-Over 70 businesses, ranging from real estate companies, bicycle vendors, medical companies, home improvements, and more, spent all day Thursday setting up for the 15th Annual Montrose Home, Garden and Business Expo.

The expo takes place Friday and Saturday, and organizers of the event say the public is set for a great time.

The Home, Garden and Business Expo highlights local business on the Western Slope.

"The main idea of it is to bring local businesses together to be able to showcase their businesses to the public," says expo organizer, Monica Ping.

Organizers believe that bringing businesses together can help them network and create revenue.

"We thought it was a good opportunity to get our name out there and get to talk to some new people, see some new faces," says Jason Adragna, Business Operations Director for Peak Professionals.

"Every year we see positive outcomes. We pick up a lot of work from the home show, it's great for our sales. Thousands of dollars come into the store just for being at the expo," adds Chris DeLorenzo, Store Manager for Montrose Brickyard.

The public is able to attend for free, and access 75 companies all in one place.

"We like to talk to people, we like to help people figure out if they can do their projects themselves," says DeLorenzo.

With the recent warm weather, expo vendors are hoping to prepare the public for their spring projects.

"We want to get everybody ready for spring," adds Ping.

"People are itching, they got that fever, they want to get out of the house. They've been indoors for 6 to 8 weeks avoiding the cold weather. It's project time, and everybody want's new ideas for projects," says DeLorenzo.

The expo begins Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 7:00 p.m. at the Montrose County Event Center and continues Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.

Grand prizes will also be given out to lucky attendees at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

Prizes include an electric bike, kids gator tractor, an electric fire place.

One person will win $200 cash, and every hour $20 will be awarded.
