1st-Degree Murder, Attempted Sex Assault on a Child in Grand Junction

UPDATE (12/16): The Mesa County Coroner’s Office has completed its examination regarding the death involving the 9-year-old female of Grand Junction, Colorado on November 9, 2019 in the 1000 Block of Hill Avenue.

The cause of death is poisoning and the manner of death is homicide. At this time, we will not be releasing any further information or the substance she was poisoned with due to the nature of this case. KREX 5 will keep you updated as more information is released.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Jeffrey Beagley was arrested for murder in the 1st-degree, child abuse resulting in death and reckless manslaughter.

Beagley also faces charges of attempted sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, as well as other felony sex crimes.

This dates back to November 9th, when emergency personnel were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Hill avenue, on a report of an unresponsive child.

The child was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the Mesa County Coroner’s Office says they expect to release the victims identity at the first part of the week.

The Grand Junction Police Department is not making any information available at this time, until the arrest affidavit is unsealed by the court.
