2020 Palisade Peach Court adapts, as festival is postponed

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Palisade Peach Festival, usually held every August was canceled due to Covid-19, leaving the court in an unusual position. Historically, the Palisade Peach Court takes on roles such as promoting the festival, attending appearances, and partaking in a crowning event.

This year, the girls had to get creative in their duties. They still promote locally-grown peaches by getting the word out to the community and working closely with the owner of Clark Family Orchards.

“It’s a huge help to the local economy around here. There is some peaches around, fruit stands have them. We just need the public to know that we’ll have them till mid to late September here in the valley.”
