29 Road Bridge reopens, man safe

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County Sheriff’s Office takes one adult male into protective custody. At approximately 11:15 Wednesday morning, deputies were dispatched to a report of an adult male on the edge of the 29 Road Bridge. 

Bystanders share that they witnessed someone on the outside of the bridge over the water.

MCSO responded to the scene as well as the Grand Junction Police Department, the Grand Junction Fire Department, and Colorado State Patrol. Deputies and officers trained in crisis intervention and Mind Springs Mobile Crisis Clinicians interacted with the individual.

MCSO describes this as the best outcome they could hope for.
