Students at New Emerson Steam School unveiled their new Libratory.
The original library was tiny and students decided they needed a new library combined with a laboratory.
Children were put into teams, visited local libraries, interviewed architects, created 3D models and after researching, they pitched their designs in a shark tank style.
The new library and maker space is fully equipped with lots of books, a construction zone, a store front, video and newspaper production, robotics, and much more.
There was not much district funding for this project, but that didn’t stop New Emerson students from getting it done.
The entire school voted on the best design for the new libratory, and a group of fourth grade girls were the winners.
