GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Here is a look at some events going on this week on the Western Slope.

  • This Thursday, Colorado Mesa University and the Chamber of Commerce are holding an interactive presentation on internships, held at the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce. To register, contact Darcy Weir at darcy@gjchamber.org or 970-263-2916.
  • This Saturday, you can head to Fat Cat Pottery for an evening in wonderland. The event includes painting “wonderland” themed pottery, and food and refreshments will be provided, as well as themed door prizes. You can sign up online or call the studio. There is a 10 dollar cover charge, as well as a fee for the pottery you choose.
  • Nuclear Care Partners invites former nuclear weapons and uranium workers to attend the third annual Former Atomic Worker Appreciation Night at the Grand Junction Rockies baseball game. For former workers, this event is free of charge. The event will take place this Friday, the 2nd at Suplizio Field. The game will begin at 6:40 p.m. and former workers must call 970-361-3405 to RSVP and receive their free tickets.
  • Art work is being sought for the first Mesa County Libraries Comic Con Juried Art Show to be displayed August 30th through October 24th. The work will be put up in the Central Library, located on Grand in downtown Grand Junction, and can consist of anything comic con themed, including fan art. There is no charge to enter, and anyone is welcome to submit up to two entries online to be considered. The last day for entry is this coming Monday, august 5th at 8pm.
