GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - One the busiest streets in the Grand Valley is about to get a facelift and that means it will be busier than usual.
Beginning Monday, June 4th, MA Concrete Construction will begin their summer long project on 7th Street between Orchard and North Avenue.
The five lane road will be narrowed to two lanes and traffic is expected to cause some delays.
MA Concrete Construction will smooth down the roads, replace curb and gutter lines and Excel Energy will install new gas lines.
The project has been in the works for about ten years according the Public Works Director of the City of Grand Junction. The project was a result of voter approval of ballot question 2B in the April 2017 Election.
This project is expected to go on until mid-August and the City of GJ recommends to take alternate routes during this time.
The city also plans to work on the second of the mile long stretch in the coming years.
