Amtrak now requires passengers to wear face coverings

Local News

Face masks are the new required accessory for many activities in today’s world. One of the latest businesses requiring customers to wear face masks is Amtrak.

According to the National Railroad Service, Amtrak started requiring passengers to wear face coverings on Monday, May 11th.

The only time the masks can be removed is when passengers are eating or drinking in designated areas, or are seated alone or with a companion. Small children are exempt to this order.

In other efforts to promote passenger safety, Amtrak has reduced bookings by 50%.
