Childhood immunization, it has become such an issue, Colorado state lawmakers are now trying to make it tougher for parents to opt their children out of vaccines. Here in Mesa County one out of ten kindergarten aged children is un-vaccinated.
The state house passed house bill 13-12 in a vote during early hours Wednesday. The bill would make it more difficult for parents to choose not to vaccinate their children. It also requires the State Health Department to develop a standardized form. And a strict process for parents who choose to not immunize their children whether it be for medical, personal, or religious reasons.
