GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – (KREX) With the change in season, comes the arrival of new art displays. The Art Festival kicked off this weekend with an artist expo. Artists from the Grand Valley and around the country participate in the Art Festival and look forward to the opportunity to showcase their art on main street every year.
Those that were able to attend had the chance to not only see the new displays, but also meet the artist behind the creation. “All of my work is geometric, and people participation, people can move it around,” John Northcutt, New Mexico Artist said, “A lot of the times I will start with a title in my mind and make the piece fit the title.”
Interactive art is not only this artists inspiration, but also how he hopes his art could change how people view and interact with art. “I got so tired of the do not touch signs, for the past 30 years I have been doing kinetic art,” Northcutt said.
To close out the Art Festival, this Sunday the Grand Junction Film Festival will highlight a diverse range of student and professional filmmakers
