MESA COUNTY, Colo. — Bare shelves in grocery stores have been just one of the many struggles in today’s world. If it weren’t for truckers, those shelves would stay bare.
Big Mike’s Pork N’ Wings, a food truck out of Fruita, recognizes how hard truckers are working in this pandemic. The owners of the truck want to give back.
“We fed 75 truckers the first night, the response was overwhelming, they couldn’t believe we were out there doing this….” – Jamie Williams, Co-Owner
Then, something even more spectacular happened. The food truck asked the community for some financial help to keep the good deed going, and Grand Valley exceeded all expectations.
“Within a day and a half, we reached our goal. We have already fed 275 truckers.. and we have raised enough to feed 600 truckers.” – Jamie Williams, Co-Owner
Big Mike’s Pork N’ Wings’s story has even gained national attention.
“We were in us today the other day… its been absolutely nuts.” – Jamie Williams, Co-Owner
Big Mike’s Food Truck doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon.
“As long as we keep getting donations, we will feed the truckers.” – Jamie Williams, Co-Owner
