GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Black Friday at Mesa Mall means it’s go time for all stores. The two days after Thanksgiving are the mall’s biggest and most crowded days.

Mesa Mall just wants to see a lot of shoppers, creating something for everyone this Christmas shopping season.

“For us, our biggest goal and hope is just to meet the needs of the community and to provide a great place to shop,” Mesa Mall Marketing Manager Natalie Schievelbein expresses, “We do have Santa right here on Black Friday, he will begin taking pictures on Black Friday. We are hoping for a lot of people to come out and shop with us here at Mesa Mall both on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.”

Just because the mall is closed all day on Thanksgiving does not mean the shopping experience will not be full.

“The extended hours happening this weekend makes Mesa Mall doors open long after 6pm,” Cora Dickey reports, This gives shoppers enough time to get a head start on the Christmas shopping but also time to support the local businesses.”

Savings roll into Small Business Saturday among many businesses at the mall, including Silver Summit. For local businesses, the focus is not just to make a profit, but also to get more customers.

“Black Friday, for us, is bringing those new people shop for the sale and then they learn ‘You guys can do that here?'” Silver Summit Co-Owner Lindsey Sutherland shares, “So we’re gonna go out some free stuff on Saturday as well so it’s not just Black Friday that’s good. You gotta come both days.”

Mesa Mall officials tell us that great sales can be found at almost all retailers ranging from “10 percent off” to “Buy three, Get three free”. Black Friday at Mesa Mall starts at 7 a.m.
