GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — UPDATE (6/12): The Wheat Ridge Police Department is investigating the death of 20-year-old Vincent Sager. Sager’s body was found on top of a semi-trailer-truck in Grand Junction the morning of June 11, 2020. WRPD detectives believe Sager died after falling onto the top of the semi-trailer from an overpass on I-70 in Wheat Ridge. Detectives continue to investigate this case and at present are not looking for any persons of interest.

(ORIGINAL): On Thursday morning, shortly after 6:00 am, a reporting party, who is an employee of the United States Postal Service, called the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center to report a body that was found on top of the trailer of one of their delivery trucks that had arrived that morning.  Officers responded to the Post Office Annex at 602 Burkey Street and determined that the person, an adult male, was deceased.

The initial investigation into this incident indicates that the trailer was traveling to Glenwood Springs from Kansas overnight.  The driver of the truck reported hearing a loud noise as he was passing under an overpass along I-70 in Wheat Ridge.  The driver proceeded to Glenwood Springs where the trailer was transferred to another truck and traveled to Grand Junction, where the body was ultimately discovered.

The investigation into the circumstances of death, as well as notification of next of kin, is being handled to the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
