GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – According to St. Mary’s Medical Center, one in eight women will have a lifetime risk of contracting breast cancer. Some women do not have symptoms for the disease, which is why doctors say it’s crucial to keep up with annual screening. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many local hospitals had to limit the number of patients coming into the hospitals.
Dr. Joyce Sekharan says, “We are encouraging all those women that may have missed their mammograms to come in. Get back on track, getting their imaging.”
