GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — Hot temperatures and breezy conditions are not ideal if there is a spark or an open flame. Lives and property can be quickly threatened. Residents of Glenwood Springs experienced that terror last night when a brushfire sent some residents into a brief evacuation.
According to the Glenwood Springs Fire Department’s Facebook page, crews responded to a wildfire at about 7:30 pm Sunday near 3 Mile Road.
Residents in the area were asked to evacuate to Glenwood Springs High School as crews battled the blaze.
One structure reportedly burned, and crews called in air support to contain the fire’s spread.
The exact size of the fire has not been provided by authorities.
As of 9:00 pm Sunday, the evacuation order was lifted as crews continued to work to contain the last portion of the fire.
