FRUITA, CO (May 5, 2020) – Canfield Bikes, high-end boutique mountain bike manufacturer, has announced its support for Goggles for Docs, a grassroots organization collecting, organizing and distributing used bike and ski goggles as protective eyewear for frontline health workers in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
In addition, Canfield Bikes is partnering with Colorado Backcountry Biker, a local Fruita bike shop, to create the first official drop-off location on the Western Slope. Anyone wishing to donate can follow the simple instructions for sanitizing and sealing goggles to prep them for donation, and leave them in the collection bin out front during normal business hours. Canfield Bikes will then collect and ship the goggles to where they are needed.
“Almost everyone who rides downhill or enduro has some used goggles collecting dust. And right now, they could save a life.
“We are urging our customers, other brands, bike shops and friends throughout the industry to do what they can. The great thing about how this is structured is that anyone can donate or set up a drop-off location,” says Michelle Good, COO. “Almost everyone who rides downhill or enduro has some used goggles collecting dust. And right now, they could save a life.”
Goggles For Docs is a grassroots effort that started about a month ago at a New Hampshire ski resort and has already garnered nationwide support.
