MESA COUNTY- Major companies are being rewarded for calling Mesa County home.
The county has a tax incentive that can relieve businesses of paying a business personal property tax. That’s taxes on things like machines and facilities.
The latest business to receive this incentive is Capco, a company known for manufacturing military supplies.
The Mesa County Board of Commissioners granted Capco this incentive at an administrative hearing Monday morning.
Businesses in Mesa County can apply for this tax incentive when they’ve invested over $1 million in inventory in the community and create new jobs.
Capco’s incentive will allow the company to save about $17,000 over the course of a decade.
