MESA COUNTY, Colo. - 20 year old Paige Willis appeared in custody, and her defense wants to continue her hearings for another six weeks.
The people say these cases are taking too long and they are ready to set a preliminary hearing.
The defense's reasoning was that they claimed there's 800 pages of discovery evidence for each case and need time to do their own investigations.
The people corrected this and said there is 800 pages in total, not 800 per case, which the defense says they were unaware of.
Willis is facing nearly 20 different charges, including first-degree assault on a peace officer.
During the chase with law enforcement in a stolen vehicle, Willis barricaded hersef in a vehicle and tried to ram deputies and police cruisers.
Deputies used less-lethal munition to bring Willis into custody back in March during the pursuit.
She will be back in court for a status conference on June 13th.
