CDOT provided an update on plans for roadways West of Downtown Grand Junction. Grand Junction’s City Council received the update Monday evening from CDOT. As they prepare to start “Phase 5” of the improvement project.
At tonight’s meeting a representative from CDOT covered a broad range of topics. From the funding status of phase five, which the money is in place to improve the intersection of 1st St. and Grand Ave. Construction in the area is expected to begin sometime in 2022. The plan, as it stands, would offer more bike path opportunities and CDOT claims, an all around safer intersection. Also, at the meeting CDOT discussed future plans for “Phase 6”. That portion of the project is not yet funded, and construction is not expected to begin for at least ten years.
