Challenger Baseball Missing Out On Celebration

Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. –

Grand Junction Challenger Baseball, like so many, are missing out amid JUCO’s cancellation. Every year the league celebrates the end of its season with Junior College baseball teams in town for the Alpine bank JUCO World Series. Of course, there are no JUCO teams in town. And Challenger Baseball has not had the opportunity to play ball this year.

Carma Brown of Challenger Baseball was woke up on the wrong side of the bed Thursday. Feeling irritated until she remembered it *should* be the day she goes out with her players to celebrate with JUCO teams. A night to BBQ and play ball cancelled. To that end, she and the league started a hashtag campaign; #ChallengerLovesJUCO.

#ChallengerLovesJUCO has brought up some great memories, but doesn’t quite equate to seeing the smiles live. So Challenger baseball is hosting a zoom meeting with the league’s players, volunteers, and JUCO Coaches who have participated in years past on Friday. Challenger Baseball hopes it can get back in action sometime later this year.
