GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — A pursuit on I-70 lands one behind bars facing up to 13 criminal charges.
Garfield County Sheriff’s Office says what was supposed to be a reckless driving stop outside Rifle, turned into a pursuit when, Dylan Thomas Zweygardt decided to elude officers while heading west towards Grand Junction.
The chase ended miles after spike strips were deployed. The Sheriff’s office says a search Zweygardt’s vehicle netted a large quantity of suspected fentanyl pills along with cash and several other narcotics.
Zweygardt was arrested near the Garfield and Mesa County line, and now faces at least 13 charges: including several counts of possession of drugs with intent to distribute, eluding and driving under the influence. He was booked into the Garfield County Jail.
