City Working to Improve Urban Tree Canopy

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Forestry division of the Parks and Recreation Department have just finished the removal of unsafe trees. The parks and rec is now starting to plant trees in Grand Junction parks and rights of way. The group is working to create a diverse urban tree canopy to better serve the environment.

The group is planting 250 trees this Spring and already have 100 trees planned for the Fall. For more information on how you can get involved in planting trees this Spring, go to the GJ Forestry page.
