Peters is now the front runner for the republican Secretary of State nomination. This coming as her opponent, democrat Jena Griswold, investigates the clerk for an alleged breach of election equipment.

After the results from the GOP, Griswold released the following statement: “Tina Peters through her words and actions is a clear threat to Colorado’s elections and to democracy itself, she is unfit to serve as Colorado Secretary of State,” Griswold says.

Clerk Peters is scheduled to return to court later this May.
