GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Local business leaders have made it known that they are in search of employees with specific skill sets. Colorado Mesa University has recognized this demand and the school is responding through community outreach.
The university has pulled together a team run by a CMU alumnus which went door-to-door in the Clifton area on Friday. The team’s goal was to educate the community on different trades that can be learned through CMU and Western Colorado Community College.
CMU used this opportunity to show locals how easily they can start learning in the classroom and get right into the workforce, doing something they enjoy.
The purpose of this type of community outreach is to seek out non-traditional students, as well as spread the word about career and technical education options offered by CMU and WCCC. For more information on how you can apply, go to the WCCC and CMU website.
