GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. –
After spending the last three weeks as the nation’s #2 DII Volleyball squad, the Mavs only had one more hurdle to climb Monday evening to clinch an RMAC regular season title. And that hurdle historically, had not been an easy mound to climb. The #13 Colorado Mines Orediggers (8-3) coming into the day had never lost this season on home court. And, were winners of the all but one of the two’s last five meetings. The key word here is HAD. CMU completed the three set sweep winning, 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 26-24) Meaning Colorado Mesa will finish the regular season with an unblemished 14-0 record, a first in program history. (A first for any team from the RMAC for that matter too.) And three straight weeks with their highest ever NCAA ranking as well.
