Collaboration of community organizations support those in need

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – (KREX) Anyone in need of support had the opportunity to attend the Convoy of Hope, a Grand Junction community event. This collaborative event hosted by Convoy of Hope was also made possible through the support of ten local church groups.

Community members in need were provided with food and healthcare opportunities all at no cost. Resources provided at the Convoy of Hope event included, a free lunch and a kids play zone. This event also offered services to those in need who may not have access to certain services such as haircuts, cancer screenings, and gardening kits.

One event organizer enjoys giving back to the community, but says he could not do it alone.
“The reality is one church can not do something this big alone,” Kirk Yamaguchi, Canyon View Vineyard Church said, “The collaboration of the different churches and their pastors and leaders really makes this event that much more impactful for the community.”

Canyon View Vineyard Church along with several other churches joined forces to meet the needs of the community, while hosting a family-fun event “We are giving away five bags of food per family, and we even have a free massage,” Yamaguchi said, “These are just the kinds of things that we want people to know that god loves them and people in this community cares for them.”
