Colorado capping the cost of insulin

Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – A law signed by Gov. Jared Polis caps co-payments of insulin medication at $100 a month for private insured patients. Insurance companies will have to absorb the balance. The second part of the law requires the state’s attorney general to launch an investigation into how prescription insulin prices are set throughout Colorado and make recommendations to the legislature.

KREX 5 and FOX 4 spoke to an insulin user and also a state representative who sponsored this bill to learn how this will affect Coloradans. If you are an insulin user and have yet to see changes made on your co-payments, please contact the state Division of Insurance at 303-894-7499.
