U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken every day of the Republican National Convention. But on the final day of the event, Trump will be making his case for another four years in the white house. And joining him at the white house is Lauren Boebert, the Republican congressional candidate for Colorado’s 3rd district.
Boebert says Trump, a man she describes as a business and family man, becoming the president of the United States was an inspiration for her to run for political office.
“President Trump has really pioneered a way for citizens like myself to step up and serve our country,” says Boebert.
She says it’s an honor to be able to support the president as he accepts the GOP nomination for his 2nd term as U.S. president.
“It’s extraordinary that a small town girl like myself who did this silly thing and decided to run for congress, is sitting here now, in Washington D.C., the capitol of the greatest nation this world has ever seen, preparing to hear the president’s acceptance speech as the republican nominee,” says Boebert.
Though Boebert is enjoying her time at the capitol, she says it isn’t a break from the campaign trail.
“We have a full schedule here in Washington DC, and then of course, tomorrow morning when I land back in Grand Junction, I’m right back at it again,” she says.
