Funds Could Be Available By The End Of The Week

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. –

Congressman Scott Tipton is helping small business’ on the Western Slope. Tipton held a call with local leaders last friday to brief them on what they can expect when federal funds are released this week.

“The bill will actually be able to provide sba loans that they’re going to be able to get through their local bank, if they maintain their employees, the loan becomes a grant”

The Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce president, Diane Schwenke says there are many ways business owners can use these funds.

“It’s a forgivable loan if you’re using those monies to pay payroll, rent, utilities, and the things to keep people employed.”

The next step is for the federal authorities and the small business assocition to agree on the final terms before lending can begin.

This Thursday, at 2:30 p.m., the chamber will host a webinar featuring banking officials.
