GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A man is in the hospital after being hit by a car on North Avenue while riding his bike.

Grand Junction Police officers responded to reports of a car crashing into a bicyclist at the intersection of 29 Road and North Avenue on Sunday at around 9 p.m.

Early investigations led law enforcement to believe the cyclist traveled illegally into the path of oncoming traffic and was hit by a car.

Grand Junction Fire Department crews transported the cyclist to the hospital with serious bodily injuries.
